The Supervisory Board directs the activities of the Center and provides suggestions for its improvement. In addition, the Supervisory Board is involved in the process of appointing the Center's management and approves its key decisions.
The Supervisory Board shall consist of a chairman, two deputy chairmen and members of the Supervisory Board. The total number of members shall not exceed 10 persons. The term of office of a member of the Supervisory Board shall be three years. The same person may be appointed to the position for no more than three consecutive terms.
The Center's Supervisory Board includes a permanent Committee on Administrative Activities of the Center. Its main powers are::
1) Ensuring the creation of a competition commission and approval of its regulations and the selection procedure for the position of Director of the Center, determining the winner of the competition and submitting this candidacy for approval.
2) Approval of the appointment and dismissal of deputy directors and heads of branches of the Center
3) approval of strategic directions and activity plans of the Center and control over their implementation
4) approval of reports of the Director of the Center on the results of the implementation of the Center's activity plans, annual results of its activities and financial reports on the results of quarterly activities
The competence of the supervisory board includes:
1) providing consultations and recommendations on the implementation of the Center's strategic directions and activity plans;
2) providing proposals for improving the Center's activities;
3) providing advice and recommendations on ensuring the financial stability of the Center;
4) hearing reports from the Director of the Center on the results of the implementation of the Center's activity plans, annual results of its activities, and financial reports on the results of quarterly activities.
The Supervisory Board of the Humanitarian Demining Center includes:
Ihor Bezkaravayny, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine;
Oleksiy Sobolev, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine;
Davor Laura, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Head of the Operational Services of the Croatian Mine Action Center of the Croatian Civil Protection Service;
Howard G. Buffett, American investor and philanthropist;
Peter Wagner, Director of the EU Foreign Policy Instrument Service;
Kostyantyn Marʼevich, State Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;
Masashi Nakagome, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine;
Tobias Privitelli, Director of the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining.
