14.05.2026
The Humanitarian Demining Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is implementing the quality control system provided by the Law, a unit has been created in the staff and the accreditation procedure for relevant specialists is currently being completed. The main goal of – is to strengthen the industry with independent quality control of operators' work.
Last week, future employees of the quality control unit underwent a trial practical inspection in the field. This is one of the requirements of the accreditation process.
The area of the site on which the trial inspection took place is 7.02 hectares. Demining works were carried out by: The HALO Trust Ukraine.
Future specialists of the quality control unit in the field had to practice their skills and make sure that:
- during the mine clearance, the requirements of national standards in the field of mine action (MAP) were met;
- the PMD operator removed or destroyed all explosive objects from the specified area within the specified depth of occurrence;
- the area is demined and the infrastructure facilities are safe and usable.
During the trial practical inspection, specialists strictly followed all the requirements of such inspection –, checked at least 1% of the demined territory, did not find critical inconsistencies and drew up relevant acts.
In the event that a demining violation was detected, specialists would document critical inconsistencies in the presence of the PHC operator and draw up an appropriate protocol.
Trial practical inspection – is another step towards the Humanitarian Demining Center's continued independent control, coordination and understanding of humanitarian demining processes by all process participants and preventing illegal actions by individual operators.
