Mine Risk Education: New Approaches, Coordination, and Partnerships

This is not only about disseminating information, but also about training in the prevention of risks associated with explosive ordnance (EOD), educational work and other measures that help reduce the number of victims of EOD. The forum presented the creation of the "International Information and Innovation Hub on Humanitarian Demining MineinfoHUB". The main areas in which the hub will work are:
– Communication
The Hub will function as an open space for ongoing interaction between all stakeholders in the humanitarian demining field. It will become a center for sharing experiences, coordinating efforts, developing regulations, and improving the system at the national and local levels.
– Informing the population
The priority is to raise public awareness of mine risk. The Hub will develop and implement information campaigns, develop training programs, educational materials and interactive content for different age and professional groups. It will analyze and coordinate activities to ensure that the process is carried out efficiently and people understand how to act correctly in the event of the discovery of explosive objects.
– Innovative materials and technologies
The Hub will create and disseminate modern information products (texts, videos, applications), systematize knowledge, develop and implement innovative approaches in humanitarian demining. The Hub will become a platform for collecting, summarizing and disseminating information on modern survey and demining methods, as well as a platform for international cooperation in this area.
– Interactive museum
Creation of a permanent innovative museum of humanitarian demining, which will contribute to the formation of a culture of safe behavior and raising awareness.
