"These are not just numbers - these are thousands of hectares of land that give life again where danger reigned yesterday. This is about the trust of farmers, about saved lives and about the economic recovery of communities. We are grateful to every agricultural producer who does not stop and submits an application, and to every sapper and deminer who performs their work every day with high quality for safe land," said Volodymyr Bayda, director of the Humanitarian Demining Center.
As of May 2025, over UAH 107 million has already been paid to mine action operators for demining land under 19 contracts.
The compensation program went into effect in September 2024. It provides for 100% reimbursement of the cost of humanitarian demining for farmers who have not yet cleared their plots, and 80% for those who conducted demining from February 24, 2022 to April 15, 2024 by certified mine action operators.
Safe land is farmers' confidence in the future.
