07.04.2026
There are uniform general demining standards in Ukraine, despite the fact that many institutions are involved in the process. This was said by the director of the Humanitarian Demining Center, Volodymyr Bayda, during a live broadcast on the TV channel “We are Ukraine”.
National standards for humanitarian demining DSTU 8820, developed on the basis of international IMAS standards, which have been in force in the world and have been formed over the years, are in force in Ukraine. But our standards are stricter”, –
volodymyr Bayda said.
All institutions work within a single regulatory system. In addition, standardization coordination is provided by a specialized technical committee, and the CGR plays a key role in its work and the development of unified approaches.
The Director of the Centre for Humanitarian Demining emphasized that the establishment of the Advisory Council would allow international experience and national expertise to be combined into a single platform for working out practical solutions and improving the effectiveness of humanitarian demining and the field of mine action in Ukraine as a whole.
